In 2020, Corrie (a Manitoban) and Jaco (originally from South Africa), fueled by faith and determination, relocated a 122-year-old church to the peaceful shores of Chain Lakes, Manitoba. There they founded Life House—a sanctuary dedicated to healing and spiritual renewal—where people can find renewed identity, vision, and purpose through the transformative power of the Gospel.

Together with their children and Corrie’s father, they also run Prairie Haven Farm, a hands-on homestead rooted in legacy and sustainability.. Building on Corrie’s family homesteading roots, they raise livestock, craft garden goods, produce compost and other organic soil amendments, and nurture a rural community spirit that bridges past and present. The family lives out the Foundations for Farming principles of Faith, Finance, Family, and Farming.

Part of their efforts involve producing organic alternatives for inputs to produce sustainable crop yields. They invited ReGen to review their composting operations, where we offered guidance on the science of composting, regulatory requirements, testing, and potential markets. We learned as much as we taught. The innovative, value-added nutrient products emerging from Prairie Haven are remarkable. The lessons gained from their work can be applied to dryland operations worldwide, and we can’t wait to try them out. Thank you Jaco and Corrie!
